Cassie + Samuel | Salem, MA

Straight from a sitcom, Cassie & Samuel's love story began as two co-workers turned roommates pretending not to be in love.  After a year of being just friends, the two became a couple and the rest was history!

Combining their shared love of travel, history and their desire to one day live on the East Coast the pair chose to celebrate their union with a micro-wedding in Salem, Massachusetts.  They chose the Salem National Maritime Historic Site for the ceremony, followed by a delicious lobster dinner at Turner's Seafood Restaurant with 40 of their closest friends and family.   The pair said that exchanging vows overseen by a close family friend, and traipsing around downtown Salem, MA with their photographer were highlights of their joy filled day.

When it came to saying YES to the dress, Cassie was a bit surprised by her final choice.

"I knew what elements I was looking for, but wasn't sure I would find one that had them all!"

Long sleeves, a sweetheart neckline a little lace and a long skirt were all on Cassie's wishlist.  After an initial few styles that were gorgeous but not quite right, her stylist knew there was one dress in particular that could check all the boxes.

"I put the dress on and gasped when I saw myself in the mirror. Once my mom and sister saw me come out, we knew it was the one."

Wedding planning can come with a lot of stress and pressure.   It can get easy to be overwhelmed by what you think you have to do or what expectations others may have for you and your day.  Cassie says that doing exactly what you want is the best piece of advice when it comes to planning your day.

"Sam and I were planning a massive wedding and stressing ourselves out about the budget, decor, and all the things that go into a big wedding. In January we looked at each other and realized it wasn’t what we wanted and we wouldn’t enjoy the day with all of the pressure and stress of a big wedding."

It's all about planning the day that reflects you and your partner's relationship the most, so taking the time stop and think about what will make you the most happy on your wedding day is so important!

"Don’t be afraid to break tradition, do what makes the two of you happy, it’s about the love you share and the beginning of a new life together."

Congratulations to Cassie & Sam!  Thank you for letting Charlotte's Weddings be part of your wedding journey!
