HOW DID YOU TWO MEET?

Katie and Hunter originally met on Tinder back in 2016. Their first date was at Papa Hayden where they both ordered pumpkin cheesecake to share and conversation flowed naturally for the two. Katie said she knew she was excited to see where things went after that first date.

“At the end of the night I knew he was someone with great taste in dessert and someone I wanted to spend a lot more time with.”

HOW DID HE PROPOSE?

Katie was suspicious of Hunter proposing. She thought it was happening a couple different days leading up to the actual proposal. After a couple wrong guesses, Katie was a little disappointed so she stopped thinking about and convinced herself it wasn’t happening any time soon. A month later, Hunter surprised her for what she thought was going to be a fun weekend away with friends. The group had planned a hike up Misery Ridge. As they were going, Katie and Hunter got ahead of the group. While they were waiting she thought it would be cute for them to recreate a picture they had taken there on their first anniversary. Hunter kept telling her to wait for the group, and while Katie was a little confused she thought nothing else of it. Once their friends caught up they began taking pictures and Hunter got down on one knee to propose to Katie. They had an amazing time celebrating with their friends the rest of the weekend.

“We celebrated with a few drinks at the top of Misery Ridge and then hiked back down the mountain, newly engaged!”

WHAT WAS IT LIKE FINDING THE ONE AT CHARLOTTE’S?

Katie loved her experience at Charlotte’s. She said everything was so smooth, fun and meaningful. The first time she had been to Charlotte’s was two years prior when she accompanied her sister-in-law to find her dress. Katie saw how well the Charlotte’s employees took care of not just the brides but the families too and made sure it was somewhere she wanted to go when it was her turn to find her dream dress. Two years later, it was Katie’s turn! Her mom flew in from California, so Katie really wanted to find her dress while her mom was in town. Katie had done her research on gowns and knew she wanted a Lillian West gown. She said Charlotte’s had the best selection of Lillian West she had seen in the Portland area and that she was confident that she would find the one! Katie started trying on and nothing was “exactly” perfect as she got through some dresses. There was one that she loved but was a little hesitant about the back. With the help of her stylist, they were able to check in with the designer to see if they could alter the back to what Katie had envisioned. Sure enough, they were able to create it more like the back of another dress she loved, creating the perfect dress for Katie.

“I am so grateful for Charlotte’s compassion, spirit, and creativity during dress shopping... The entire staff took a day that may normally be pretty stressful and made it exciting, fun, and meaningful!”

Katie said yes to Lillian West ‘66183’. This gown has gorgeous vibrant lace appliques with sexy sheer side cutouts. The plunging V-neck is defined with a sheer bodice and thin illusion straps. The perfect fit and flare to make any bride feel sexy and elegant.

DID YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MOMENT DURING YOUR WEDDING DAY?

Katie and Hunter’s wedding day was the perfect representation of who they are and what is important to them as a couple. They were blessed with a sunny day at Langdon Farms. One of Katie’s favorite moments from that day was having personal vows written by her and Hunter. Both created waterworks for the other. The couple prioritized having their wedding as a big party with their friends and family to celebrate them. They loved being able to have fun on the dance floor and let loose after months and months of planning.

“Walking back down the aisle as husband and wife was a feeling of elation I will never forget!”

ANY ADVICE FOR OUR BRIDES-TO-BE?

Katie’s advice for brides is to not stress about last minute changes or things you wish happened. No one will know what was supposed to happen or didn’t happen. The day is about you and your partner. She also wanted brides to remember to stay true to you and your partner’s priorities and to not get carried away with other people’s opinions.

Congratulations to Katie and Hunter!
