LaTasha + Willie - New Orleans, LA

There’s no party like a Williams party! LaTasha and Willie Williams tied the knot in New Orleans, Louisiana surrounded by loved ones from all across the country. The two met right on Bourbon Street at Essence Festival 2018 and knew right then that this was forever.

Willie outdid himself in the proposal department. Beginning with breakfast, a full-body massage, nail and makeup appointment, and lunch, the full-day scavenger hunt led LaTasha back to her home where a box waited for her with a dress (purchased by Willie) to wear to a private dinner. The two dined on a five-course Haitian meal at the Kann Winter Village. LaTasha met their chef, Gregory Gourdet, who gifted her his homemade Haitian tea and when she returned, she was greeted with rose petals, a photographer, and Willie down on one knee.

“At that point I would then be the Future Mrs. Williams! Once we left Kann Winter Village, Willie had booked a Presidential Suite at the Doubletree, which was filled with roses, candles, and desserts for us to enjoy!”

LaTasha had her modern vintage vision in mind before coming to Charlotte’s. She was looking for a dress that would match her creative style with a Spanish and French flair. She learned from her cousin, who also found her dress at Charlotte’s, that there was an abundance of dresses for a full-figured bride. LaTasha was paired with stylist Melanie to find the perfect dress that would check all the boxes on her list. She was able to find a dress with lots of lace and sleeves that fit the vibe of LaTasha’s day beautifully. Julia Leigh Style #5663 is a stunning A-line gown with a V-neckline that creates a beautiful shape for any body type. The style of this dress matched LaTasha and Willie’s venue and New Orleans’ rich historical architecture perfectly.

“When I said “YES TO THE DRESS” it was a special selection recommended by Melanie for me to try and I LOVED it!! The tears started to flow and I knew it was my dress. Melanie and the team cared about me and my happiness. Win-win situation for us all! I am forever grateful.”

Surrounded with light and love, LaTasha and Willie were married on the rooftop of The Riverview Room with the New Orleans skyline as their backdrop. The venue was a special sentiment to their relationship, since it was in the location where they first met and all of their adventures leading up to the wedding day. LaTasha loved every aspect of the day, but one thing stuck out most.

“It is so hard to pick just one thing, but saying “I do” was my favorite part as I have been waiting to be Mrs. Williams! However, the preparation for both the bridesmaids and groomsmen was great, the music, food, and dancing fun - you also cannot forget the second-line band at the end to close out the wedding! I have been told our wedding was the best one people have attended! Definitely a vibe!”

The wedding day and every aspect leading up to the day can be quite an adventure. LaTasha gave amazing advice for those who are preparing for their big day. Remember that your wedding is just that — your wedding. She said to have fun and incorporate the things that are important to you and your future partner. All that truly matters is how you feel.

Congratulations to LaTasha and Willie! We wish you a long, happy life together.
