We recommend ordering your wedding gown 10-12 months before your wedding (if possible). Standard production time of a wedding dress is up to 7 months, and your seamstress will need a few months for alterations. We recommend that once you've found your venue and set your wedding date, it's time to start your dress shopping journey!
Don't worry if you find your self with a shorter timeline than recommended. Your stylist will work with you to make sure you see options that can be taken home that same day or will arrive quicker that the standard production time with a rush fee or through an earlier shipment with our access to designer's real time inventory portals. Rest assured that no matter your timeline, your perfect dress is waiting for you at Charlotte's!

Our bridal suites comfortably fit the bride and up to 4 guests. We do understand that finding your dream dress is an important life moment and there may be additional people that you would like to have with you - we'd love to include them via FaceTime or Zoom!
Have more than 5 guests and you'd like them all in person? We want your gown shopping experience to be everything you've dreamed of! Consider Elevating your Bridal Experience by booking an Elevated Charlotte's Experience, allowing you to bring up to 10 guests!
Due to OLCC restrictions, we kindly ask that you do not bring outside champagne with you to your appointment. We do offer a complimentary glass for guests over the age of 21! Additionally, bottles are available for purchase to enjoy during your appointment.
At Charlotte's we carry sample gowns in a wide range of sizes to make the try on process as comfortable as possible. Our in store samples range in size from an 8 to a 32, with some gowns being available to order up to a size 38! When trying gowns on in store, your stylist will use clips to fit the dresses to you and give you the best idea of how the gown will fit once it is altered to your body for your big day.
After you say yes to the dress, your stylist will take your measurements and guide you through the size selection process. Wedding gown sizing is different than regular street clothes, so your stylist will make sure to equip you with all the necessary information so that you can make the best choice for you and your dress!
Feel free to bring a robe if you’d like to wear it in between trying on dresses. In regard to undergarments, a strapless bra and any shapewear you may or may not want to wear on your wedding day is recommended. If you have specific shoes already picked out feel free to bring those! But it isn’t required to have shoes picked out yet.
Our average price point for wedding dresses in Charlotte's Weddings is $1500 to $2500, with gowns up to $4000+. We have a limited selection of special order wedding gowns under $1500. We have a small selection of wedding dresses that can be purchased off the rack for a discount. Those wedding gowns will be in the range of $800-$1200 depending on style. Please reference our pricing page for more information on each of our wedding gown designers.
We suggest you set your first appointment with a seamstress for 8-12 weeks before your wedding. Before your appointment be sure to have all of your undergarments with you, such as a bra, slip, and shoes. It makes the biggest difference in the fit of your gown! You will have at least three appointments with a seamstress before your wedding day. We recommend reviewing our seamstress page for more information on our preferred seamstresses. Once you are done with all of your fittings, return the gown to Charlotte's for the steam and press service and it will be ready a few days before the big day!

Charlotte's Ashland is located right on the plaza in downtown Ashland. There are free, monitored, 2-hour and 4-hour parking spots located within the plaza and within a few blocks around the neighborhood.
On weekends, parking can be limited and you may need to walk a few blocks to the store after you're situated. Keep this in mind when planning your visit!
